A kenning is an ancient Norse poetic device — a compressed metaphor that renames something by describing what it does or what it means. The sea becomes the 'whale-road.' A warrior becomes the 'feeder of ravens.' We name every product with a kenning that captures the essence of its mythological namesake. Njord isn't just the god of the sea — he is the Tide-Seeker.

We use a natural soy wax base for cleaner, slower burning and excellent scent throw. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches with carefully selected fragrance oils designed to evoke the spirit of its mythological namesake.

Burn times vary by size. Our 4oz tins burn for approximately 25-30 hours, our 8oz tins for 50-60 hours, and our 12oz glass jars for 70-80 hours when burned properly (1/4 inch wick, 4-hour maximum sessions).

Yes. All our candles use natural soy wax (no animal byproducts) and we never test on animals. Our fragrance oils are sourced from suppliers committed to cruelty-free practices.

For best burn: trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each light, allow the wax to melt fully to the edges on the first burn (about 2-3 hours), never burn for more than 4 hours at a time, and discontinue use when 1/2 inch of wax remains. Always burn on a heat-resistant surface and never leave unattended.

Our candles are formulated for a balanced, atmospheric scent throw — strong enough to fill a room but never overpowering. Each scent is designed to evoke a feeling rather than dominate a space.

We currently ship within the United States only, including all 50 states. International shipping is on our roadmap.

We offer a flat shipping rate of $5.00 on all US orders, no matter how many candles you buy.

Orders are processed within 2-5 business days, then ship via standard delivery (3-7 business days). Most customers receive their orders within 1-2 weeks of ordering.

Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with tracking information. You can use the tracking number to monitor your package's progress.

We process orders quickly, but if you need to make a change, contact us as soon as possible at kenningslsc@gmail.com. We'll do our best to accommodate before the order ships. Once shipped, orders cannot be cancelled — but you may return them under our standard return policy.

If your package is damaged in transit, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos. We'll send a free replacement or full refund. For lost packages, contact us and we'll help investigate with the carrier.

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery on unburned, unused candles in their original packaging. Customers cover return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect. See our Returns page for full details.

Email us at kenningslsc@gmail.com with your order number and the items you'd like to return. We'll respond within 1-2 business days with return instructions.

Once we receive and inspect your return, refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5-10 business days. Depending on your bank, it may take additional time to appear on your statement.

We don't offer direct exchanges. If you'd like a different scent or size, please return the original for a refund and place a new order.
